Defense Canada - Montreal Garrison (LEED)

The Canadian Forces Montreal Area Support Unit constructed this building with the objective of attaining a LEED Canada New Construction certification. Defence Construction Canada was motivated in this decision by the need to ensure long-term energy performance of its infrastructure and reduced operating costs. The project specifications required implementing a series of best environmental practices as specified by LEED.
On this project, SYNAIRGIS acted as the commissioning coordinator and LEED advisor for the general contractor, ensuring compliance with the owner’s requirements for LEED and the commissioning of building energy systems.
LEED Certification Management - Our mandate :
- Develop an action plan to identify the LEED interventions required over the course of the project, as well as an implementation and monitoring strategy
- Preparation of erosion and indoor air quality control plans and inspection reports
- Assisting stakeholders in selection of recycled and regional materials to achieve LEED targets while reducing costs
- Verification of products to ensure compliance with low-emitting materials credits
- Preparation of LEED documentation for the credits falling under the responsibility of the entrepreneur.
